Uploading documents
Most sections take documents as well as answers. A document is the evidence behind an answer, and having it attached is what turns a claim into something a buyer can check without asking you.
How to upload one
Open the section, find the field the document belongs to, and choose the file. It uploads against that field rather than into a general folder, so the document is always attached to the question it answers.
What is accepted
PDFs, common image formats and the usual office document formats. snapdue checks the actual contents of the file rather than trusting the extension, so a file renamed to look like a PDF is refused.
There is a size limit per file. A scan that is too large is almost always a scan at a needlessly high resolution, and rescanning at a lower one fixes it.
Where the file goes
Files are stored in private object storage, never in a public folder and never at a guessable address. Listing the storage is refused, so a file cannot be found by guessing at names.
Every download goes through a link that expires after fifteen minutes and is issued only after snapdue has checked that the person asking is a member of that company.
Who can reach it
Members of the company with permission to read the pack. A viewer with read only access sees documents except in the sections marked sensitive.
Identity documents are handled separately from pack documents. They sit under money laundering rules, they are never shown in anything a buyer sees, and they are kept for five years after the relationship ends.
Every read and every write of a sensitive document is recorded, including who did it and when.
